The Order of the Golden Dawn in the Outer is a magical, mystical and alchemical Order and School officially founded at the Autumnal Equinox, 2007. As an Outer Order Mystery School in the Western Hermetic Tradition, the Golden Dawn is concerned with the magical knowledge of the West; of performing initiations to awaken energies within those who cross its threshold; to prepare its students for the greater Magic of the Second, or Inner Order; and to work on both the inward development of its members as well as the outward development of mankind.
As an Order, we are devoted to practicing the Golden Dawn system as it has developed over the past 130 years. We hope that our Order and its website helps those true seekers after light who may be seeking this path by providing the means to obtain initiation into this ancient Order. If you seek the Light of the Hidden Wisdom; if you are sincere and wish to learn the traditional Golden Dawn System of Magic; if you seek friendship and service with others in the work of the Light, then our Order may be for you. The mission of the Order of the Golden Dawn in the Outer, its Temples and Sanctuaries, is to aid, assist and encourage all who seek initiation into the Western Mysteries, in advancing to Adepthood and achieving Knowledge and Conversation with one’s own Holy Guardian Angel, for the purpose of divine illumination, by working primarily within the framework of the traditional Golden Dawn system of Magic.

The Outer Order curriculum
The five elemental grades of the Outer Order — each one a threshold, a ritual, and a curriculum of study.
Neophyte
The threshold. The candidate passes through the darkness into the light of the Order.
Zelator
Earth. The foundation grade. The candidate begins the study of the elements and the Qabalah.
Theoricus
Air. The theoretical grade. Astrology, Tarot, and the deeper study of the Sephiroth.
Practicus
Water. The practical grade. Geomancy, the Sepher Yetzirah, and the paths of the Tree.
Philosophus
Fire. The philosophical grade. Alchemy, the pentagram rituals, and preparation for the Portal.
